ZooRus-2007

On 5-7 April 2007 in pavilion 69 of the All-Russian exhibition centre the VIII International specialized exhibition ZooRus-2007 took place. professionals and pet lovers had an opportunity to see the zoomarket new products, obtain information about goods and services directly from the very manufacturers, make favourable contracts and carry on business negotiations with the partners and clients.

In 2007 more than 100 enterprises became exhibitors of ZooRus. Among them were manufacturers of pet products, wholesale trade companies, manufacturers of veterinary preparations, aquariums and aquariuming products, fish-farming companies and quarantine bases for keeping fish, companies, which presents exotic birds and terrarium animals in the market, and also the specialized press.

The exposition area of ZooRus-2007 covered 3000 square meters, it increased by 30% larger in comparison with the exhibition in 2006.

The geography of the exhibition participants and guests is rather vast: Russia, the Ukraine, Byelorussia, Poland, Germany, China, Belgium, Singapore, Japan and other countries. ZooRus welcomed experts from more than 50 cities and towns of Russia: Moscow, Moscow region, St.-Petersburg, Kiev, Chelyabinsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Rostov and others. 10 000 people visited the exhibition, more than 1500 experts were among them.

The exhibition guests and visitors were (the percentage from the total number of the registered experts):
-    representatives of retail trade – 32%
-         representatives of wholesale trade – 26%
-         veterinarians – 20%
-         manufacturers of pet products – 12%
-         aquariuming experts – 10%.
 

During the ZooRus-2007 exhibition the aquarium design contest show took place. For the first time in the history of Russian competitions the works were presented in the two nominations – freshwater and seawater aquariums. Both the professional jury and the visitors estimated the works. According to the results of the voting the People’s choice award was the prize in each of the two nominations.

On the 7^th of April 2007 at ZooRus-2007 the large cat show «Sodruzhestvo-2007» was held. More than a 1000 of cats of 42 breeds participated in it.

On the 7^th of April 2007 the Championship of trimmed Yorkshire terriers was held. During the Championship the competition “Gold scissors” took place in the nominations «The best hairdresser-stylist of dog trims» and «The best clothing designer». The fashion-show and the show of pet trims were presented. 

The organizers surveyed the exhibitors for the purpose of evaluating the exhibition results. The participants’ opinions were divided as follow:
 -         excellent results: 50% of the respondents;
 -         good results: 30% of the respondents;
 -         satisfactory results: 20% of the respondents.

Championship of trimmed yorkshire

For the first time in Russia 2 unusual events took place during the ZooRus-2007 exhibition: “Championship of trimmed yorkshire terriers” and the competition of groomers and designers “Gold scissors”. The sponsor of the events was ROYAL CANIN – Russia, the idea of these competitions belonged to the editors of the journal “Yorki”. The awards: nutrition Royal Canin for yorkshire terriers and cosmetics Iv San Bernard.

Ekaterina Bauzhes, an FCI expert, evaluated the trimmed yorkshire terriers. The winner of the Championship was Champion of Russia Moskovsky Talisman Lui Lapash and his owner Nelly Medvedeva. The prize was the winner’s photo on the front cover of the journal “Yorki”.

The FCI expert Ekaterina Bauzhes, businessman Vasily Bogatyrev, Maria Shelekasova (ROYAL CANIN – Russia), Ludmila Abramova (Million drouzey) were the members of the jury of the competition “Gold scissors”. The jury was unison in their opinions: the winner in the nomination “The best designer” was the designer Elena Bezuglova. Other competitors were rewarded with certificates and valuable presents. Among them were: Elena Lisnevskaya, Valentina Kvasova, Julia Sidelnikova.

The groumers of Moscow zoosalons and private hairdressers took part in the second nomination of the competition “The best hairdresser-stylist”. The winner in this nomination was Ella Zaitseva. The second place took Nelly Medvedeva.
